Between Imagination and Machine

When photography first emerged in the 19th century, painters responded with a mix of curiosity and fear. 1859, French modern art critic Charles Baudelaire warned in Le Salon de 1859 that photography could never replace true artistic imagination, dismissing it as a mechanical craft rather than an art form.. Yet history proved otherwise — photography evolved into a powerful artistic medium, inspiring new visual languages and even helping ignite movements such as Impressionism.
Today, the rise of AI‑generated imagery has triggered a similar divide. Some artists feel threatened by it, while others embrace it as a new medium with transformative potential. As a visual artist, I am energised by this shift. AI allows me to visualise ideas that have lived in my mind for years but were previously impossible to realise on my own. With this technology, I can explore new forms of visual storytelling, create from limited resources, and push my creative boundaries into unfamiliar territory.
As a filmmaker, AI also opens an entirely new dimension of possibility. It enables me to pre‑visualise scenes, construct atmospheres, and experiment with camera language long before production begins. It expands my ability to shape rhythm, emotion, and world‑building — extending filmmaking into a realm where imagination and technique can meet without limitation.
This page marks the beginning of that journey — a space to showcase my AI‑driven artwork and to document my growth as both an artist and filmmaker as I continue to explore this evolving and powerful medium.
